The City Council agreement with the Ministry of Development was about to manage applications and distribute grants for the rehabilitation of housing in the municipality. The mayoress, Ángeles Muñoz, signed in Malaga an agreement with the provincial delegate of Development, Infrastructure and Land Management, Carmen Casero, by which the City Council becomes a partner to manage applications and distribute grants for the rehabilitation of housing in the municipality. The councillor explained that “thanks to this agreement with the Ministry of Development, the residents of Marbella may apply, on a competitive basis, aid ranging from 40% to 70%, depending on their income and needs, to undertake a wide range of rehabilitation and maintenance actions in their homes, both single-family and multi-family.

Muñoz recalled that “the former Minister of Development, Iñigo de la Serna, promoted a major state plan to improve the public housing plant that could incorporate the autonomous communities and municipalities, with very good conditions” and said that “for many years we had not had financing in this area and Marbella will be involved to have a clear weight, both provincial and autonomous, and that the largest number of citizens can qualify for these grants. He has specified that this is a multi-year plan until 2021, with European and state funds, and that the Ministry of Development “now stipulate the deadline for moving forward the call.

If you meet the requirements, we provide full service, design and build, our architects first check the feasibility and provide a  full assessment, followed by technical report, and a quotation. Later on, we help with the legal paperwork, in order to apply for the subsidy.

The Councillor said that the agreement provides for the possibility that the Ministry of Development pay in advance to the City Council the first 50 percent of the total amount of grants awarded to the municipality. In addition, he announced that the Consistory will create a specific unit in Procurement “which will manage and supervise all subsidies that are requested” and will inform the residents, through the municipal website and the Citizen Participation Council, “so that the initiative has maximum dissemination. Muñoz has detailed that “the aid may cover actions to improve the facades, accessibility, air conditioning or electricity, among others” and has indicated that the City has already allocated 200,000 euros within the municipal budget for the rehabilitation of buildings in Salduba Street.

Lines 76 and 78, included in the mobility card. The territorial delegate, for her part, stressed that “has been a very fruitful meeting in which we have addressed many pending actions in the municipality of Marbella that are necessary to promote the development and welfare of neighbours. Among the main issues that have been addressed, the mayoress stressed that the free urban bus service – through the Mobility Card for registered citizens – will also extend to the two regional bus lines linking New Andalusia and San Pedro Alcantara with the Hospital Costa del Sol (76 and 78) from next May 1 and the approval of the file that will allow nine taxis in the municipality have greater capacity to have 7, 8 and 9 seats, a proposal that, as has been specified, will be transferred to the new board of Taxisol for the next week to address it in its informative committee.
